Halloween 2026 falls on Saturday, 31 October, which means more parties, parades and haunted attractions than usual, and more people searching for plans at the last minute. If you have not booked anything yet, you still have options. Here is how to find a good Halloween event near you in the next few days.
1. Start with what is happening in your city
The fastest way to see what is on is to search by city and date. On Looco Fest you can filter events by location, radius and category, then open the official ticket page for each one. Try searching for "Halloween", "costume party" or "haunted" together with your city name, and widen the radius if your town has little on offer.
2. Know the main types of Halloween events
Parades and street festivals. Many cities hold free public parades on or around 31 October. Derry in Northern Ireland, for example, runs a large multi-day festival from 28 October to 1 November, with a parade on Halloween night. Programmes can change, so always check the official listing before you travel.
Club nights and costume parties. Saturday is the busiest night of the year for these. Entry often sells out or rises in price on the day, so buy early if you can.
Haunted houses and scare attractions. These usually run for several weekends, and timed entry slots fill quickly on Saturday evening. Weekday or earlier slots are often easier to get.
Family events. Pumpkin trails, trick-or-treat evenings and kids' discos tend to run in the afternoon or early evening, and many are free or low-cost.
3. Check the details before you go
Small and local events are often confirmed late, so details such as times, age limits and dress codes can change. Before you leave home, confirm the date and start time on the organiser's page, the entry rules (many club nights are 18+ or 21+), whether tickets are sold in advance only or also at the door, and the weather, since outdoor events and fireworks can be postponed.
4. Buy tickets from official sellers
Demand peaks around Halloween, and fake or inflated resale listings appear at the same time. Buy through the organiser or a clearly named official seller. Looco Fest is an independent aggregator and links to the official sellers rather than selling tickets itself.
5. Plan your night
Costumes and crowds change how you travel. Check last trains and buses, since many services run on reduced timetables, agree a meeting point with friends in case you get separated, and keep your phone charged. If your costume includes a mask or props, check the venue rules first, because many do not allow full face coverings or realistic-looking weapons.
